Ultrasound devices work by sending high-frequency sound waves from the probe placed on the mother's body; these waves are reflected back by tissues of different densities, and the resulting image is displayed on a screen.

In conventional two-dimensional ultrasound, the reflections return in a single plane, whereas in four-dimensional ultrasound they come from different angles, allowing tissues to be visualized in detail.

Because parents are most curious, after their baby's health, about who and what the baby resembles, 4D ultrasound turns the excitement of pregnancy into lasting memories.

With all these features, 4D ultrasound plays an important role in the diagnosis of the following:

  • Determining the baby's sex at an earlier stage (at week 14), depending on the baby's position
  • Developmental assessment of the baby
  • Detailed evaluation of multiple pregnancies
  • Diagnosis of structural problems of the uterus
  • Detection of possible placental abnormalities
  • Identifying the causes of abnormal bleeding
  • Diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy
  • Diagnosis of ovarian tumors and cysts, polyps and fibroids
  • Determining the position of the placenta
