Digestive system diseases are extremely common in Türkiye, as they are around the world. Gastroenterology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases.

The digestive system includes the tube-shaped tract extending from the mouth to the anus, made up of the esophagus, stomach, and small and large intestines, as well as the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas and spleen.
