Cubital tunnel syndrome is compression of the ulnar nerve at the level of the elbow. It occurs especially in people who work at a desk, when they rest their elbows on the desk and the arm stays bent in that position. In cubital tunnel syndrome, there is numbness and loss of sensation in the 4th and 5th fingers of the hand. A burning sensation spreading from the elbow along the inner side of the forearm is typical. Medical treatment and avoiding bending the elbows too much are tried first. If the complaints do not go away, an EMG is performed, and if the condition requires it, surgery is carried out. During the operation, a new pathway is created for the compressed nerve, moving it to a position where it will not be compressed.
